Boston City Lights
he Boston City Lights Foundation is a free pre-professional performing and visual arts program for inner city youth in Boston. This program is comprised of volunteer staff and coaches that create a cohesive community among volunteers and program participants.
Boston City Lights offers an intense training program in the performing arts for children in dance, singing, acting, graphic design, photography, sound production, set design, and community participation and organization. Children are taught to teach, and as participants develop intellectually and artistically, they teach younger Boston City Lights participants, teaching program participants to continually give back. Boston City Lights students have the opportunity to perform in both benefit and paid shows, to record their work in our studio, and to learn to teach in our internship positions. City Lights also offers monthly focused two-day training camps in Maine for Boston youth.
